Friend of a Friend Gallery (FOAF) is happy to announce Water the Earth with Your Tears a solo exhibition by Dmitri Obergfell (b. 1986). Drawing from Antonio Gramski and Walter Benjamin, Obergfell grapples with media saturation and cultural hegemonies, incorporating imagery as diverse as Mexican folk saints, the Berserk manga, and archetypal symbols like the web and the flame. Obergfell presents an atemporal body of work – marrying art history with references to contemporary visual cultures.
